Abstract

This is the fifth in a series of reports on low cost or novel forms of shore protection. It covers the use of breakwater type structures whose aim is to encourage beach stability. The structures that are examined range from large gravity type breakwaters which dissipate and disperse wave energy through the small sills which trip waves at the toe of existing seawalls and revetments.
