Abstract

This report summarises the results of a programme of work designed to: (a) predict the hydraulic performance of certain engineering structures in rivers and their consequences to the environment; to optimise the design of the structures in terms of safety and economy. (b) improve techniques for the prediction of: sediment loads entering reservoirs the aggradation, degradation and local scour associated with dams and other structures; and the long term stability of flood relief channels or other man-made waterways.
