Abstract

HR Wallingford coordinated a project in collaboration with the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory, the Institute of Hydrology, the Flood Hazard Research Centre and the University of Southampton to produce a report on the research needs in flood and coastal defence. HR Wallingford convened an expert workshop on 17 November 1995 to promote discussion of the issues and to identify the research needs. This report contains the position papers submitted to the workshop and the a discussion of the research needs in the flood and coastal sector.
