May, R. (1982) Design of gutters and gutter outlets: Theory and experiment. Technical Report. Hydraulics Research Station.

Abstract

This report describes the theoretical and experimental background to the design methods of rood gutters and gutter outlets that are contained in a revised version of British Standard Code of Practice CP308. Part 1 describes theoretical solutions for smooth level gutters of rectangular, trapezoidal and half-round cross-sectional shape.
Part 2 is concerned with the capacity of rectangular and circular outlets in gutters and box-receivers.
