Abstract

This short report is intended as an update to the HR Report No SR 109 of April 1987. It concentrates chiefly on those areas of the south and southeast where the problems of saltings recession and the consequent likelihood of land loss or inundation were found to be most acute. The review also notes and considers the findings of a meeting held in March1988 to look at ways and means of conducting a multi-disciplinary research programme to study the problem of recession and how best it can be tackled. Prepared for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, this report was written within the research commission project CSA 1299.
