Abstract

This report, in two volumes, describes the development of new and improved design procedures for two stage (compound) flood channels. It provides the hydraulic engineer with essential information on the latest design methods derived from extensive tests in the Flood Channel Facility at Wallingford. Examples of design calculations are given including tables indicating how observed stage-discharge data might be used to extend the stage-discharge function.
