Abstract

Most sewerage design in the UK uses synthetic rainstorms derived from rainfall statistics. One alternative method of design is to use long timeseries of real rainfall records. This has the disadvantage of long computation times, and difficulties in obtaining the data. This project set out to develop a method to represent a long timeseries with just a few synthetic storms.
