Abstract

The report, using a cross-industry questionnaire and a literature review of current practice, has highlighted the inconsistencies and inadequate attention to risk in the current design standards. It is clear also from the questionnaire, that industry is significantly confused over the areas of current practice and although Eurocodes are attempting to address this problem a common approach in hydraulic structures is required. The need for the HR Wallingford research was therefore confirmed.
