Abstract

Estuary morphology studies usually adopt a formal framework based around Expert Geomorphological Assessment. Within this framework, data and modelling are applied as appropriate to address the problem to be solved, such as the impact of a new development on the future evolution of the estuary morphology. This Defra funded research project has helped considerably to improve the consistency with which assessments are undertaken and a comprehensive technical report has been produced.
