Abstract
Current meters are used in both rivers and tidal water. In tidal water the direction of flow is also required. Current measurements are required to calculate bulk flow of water and are also used in the study of siltation pollution and wave refraction. A suite of programs has been written at Hydraulics Research to validate, calibrate and display current meter data in these various forms.
