Risk levels in coastal and river engineering - a guidance framework for design

The document is aimed primarily at the designer in order to develop a robust philosophy for undertaking and managing the design of coastal and fluvial structures. However, it has also been written to help other decision-makers to broaden their understanding of the design process so that efficient decisions regarding coastal and fluvial engineering can be achieved. The document has been split into two parts: Part A is the main guidance document setting out the framework for setting design risk levels while Part B provides the case study analysis used to develop and demonstrate the main principles in Part A.
