Review of formalisation of geomorphological concepts and approaches for estuaries - Environment Agency report

Whitehouse, R.J.S. (2006) Review of formalisation of geomorphological concepts and approaches for estuaries - Environment Agency report. Technical Report. FM R&D Dissemination, Defra- Flood Management Division.

Abstract

Estuary morphology studies usually adopt a formal framework based around Expert Geomorphological Assessment. Within this framework, data and modelling are applied as appropriate to address the problem to be solved, such as the impact of a new development on the future evolution of the estuary morphology. This Defra funded research project has helped considerably to improve the consistency with which assessments are undertaken and a comprehensive technical report has been produced.
