Odd, N.W.M. (1999) Accuracy of marine siltation predictions. Technical Report. HR Wallingford.
The prediction of the impact of engineering works on marine siltation in estuaries, ports and coastal zones is often a difficult task. The developer and the relevant national environmental protection agency need to have a reasonable measure of the likely accuracy of the marine siltation predictions proposed by the engineer to check that they are compatible with their needs and to justify the cost. The objective of the research funded by the DETR, was to audit siltation predictions for projects for which engineering works have been constructed and for which siltation rates have been recorded (prior- and post-construction), and thereby obtain a measure of the accuracy of the original predictions.
