Abstract

The basic aim of this research was to improve the representation of sand transporting models. The first phase of the project, covered in this report, concentrates on finding the best numerical model representation of the exchange of sand between the bed and the flow, based on assessments of the available data and theoretical analyses. The report also contains descriptions of the fundamental physical processes affecting sand transport in estuaries and brief review of existing numerical models of sand transport.
